My Midol Madness

Midol. I will attest, it is great stuff for when you need it. Though, I have some beef with the makers of Midol. Could their packaging be any more difficult? Seriously! It is simply impossible to peel away the paper backing. IMPOSSIBLE. Of all medications, why do this with Midol? Women are not in a, oh, great mindset as it is when approaching the Midol relief. So why then, must Midol poke the angry female bears with difficult packaging? Arrrrr - give me pill - me crampy and now MAD! arrrrgghhh!

Okay- I feel better now. On a lighter note, I have to share a hilarious commercial parody by my friends at SNL....

Lily Tantrum Scale (so far)

Because I am a visual kinda gal...I tried to cook up a Lily Tantrum Scale graph (very much "in process"). Lily is such a sweet little girl but as her 2nd birthday nears, we've noticed an increase in Tantrum occurances. This graph reflects the various levels thus far. Click on the picture to enlarge...

Legend Information:

1. Yes/No/Yes/No - the indecisiveness that begins it all. "Yes- Juish", I hand it to her, "NO!". Rinse and repeat, a hundred times (Mommy has learned to quit offering and Just Say No). This inevitably triggers the....

2. Fussy Trot- I have to force myself not to laugh during this level. She'll follow after me in an exaggerated jog emphasizing each syllable with her steps. I'll need to get this on video as describing it gives NO justice to her skill.

3. Throwin' Stuff - pretty self explanatory.

4. Mad Lil Banshee - recognizable by loud high pitch screaming.

5. Looking up "Exorcism" - as the little monster in front of me is not the Lily I know. Lily is such a sweetie and, as I've stated before, is very tender-hearted. But when that little monster moves in? Forget sensitivity. Grunt crying, sobbing, dramatic falls to the ground. Anyone know a good Catholic priest? :-)

Lily Doins 3-16-09

I'm just a wee bit behind on the Lily Doins. Really, there are lots and lots of doins. She talks a lot and the rate which she picks up vocabulary is astounding. By the time I typed this, one phrase was made obsolete. Here is my best attempt at the ever evolving list of the LilyDoins:

1. "C'mon": Translation - follow me to FUN like purses, barbies and baby dolls.

2. "Hey Guys": when talking to Daddy and Mommy (and Max)- plural

3. "C'mon, guys": telling Daddy and Mommy (and Max) to follow me to more fun like purses, barbies and baby dolls.

4. "Broke": This word is spoken well and often. Though, I think she must break a lot of things at school. This one comes in handy, I must admit. I told her Barney was broke after watching 3 Barney shows in a row. Oh yes, Barney was very broke. She processed the statement and was ok with that. In as solemn of a voice a sweet little toddler can get, she conceded, "Barney. Broke." Score one for Mommy.

5. "Lily pix": or Lily Fix, or Mommy pix, Daddy pix. We pix a lot of broke things.

6. "Bopple Juish": or Apple juice and since I've started keeping this latest list, #6 retired quickly to

7. "Apple Juish": Sure its closer to the actual work but...bopple juice was way cuter.

8."No Dice": What? I can try to fit in some vocabulary while watching Barney 7 days a week? She does a baseball's Safe hand motion with this too. This was all Mommy's Doin.

9. "Mouse", "Frog", "Snake": latest animals to label

10. "Dark": Lily tries so hard at this word. Too hard. She makes it way more difficult than necessary. She usually ends up saying, "Guaarrrkkkchh" or "Dharcchhhk". I usually just look at her, smile and reply flatly, "Nooo. 'Dark'." With a new sense of enlightenment, she replies, "Ghuaarrjjcchhczck9k?"

11. Singing: She loves to sing. Some favorites are Barney's "I love you" song, the ABC song, Twinkle Little Star, Where is Thumbkin, Jesus Loves Me and Wheels on the Bus. She requests Jesus Loves Me often by saying "JESUS!".

12. Counting up or down to ten: She may not say the actual numbers, but she points and says ''wah, teee, reee, fah, fiyee, seeee...".

13. Sitting at the table: She now sits in her booster seat at the table. She is so extremely proud. Though, we are going through the hard lesson of Plate Physics which we didn't educate Lily on within the nice confines of Tray-tronics. Hard for us and the floor; great for Max.

14. Sibling Love for Max: Oh the relationship with big brother Max is bittersweet. Lily loves Max, pets him often and she feeds him more than his fair share of People Food . But he does have to tolerate constant blame "Max, STOP" and general shoving. He's 90lbs therefore Lily might as well shove a cow. He handles it all so well. He has tremendous patience that I have yet to see run out (or even come close). They are quite the cute little pair.

15. Dinner Prayer: Lily has gotten down the pre-eating prayer. Its a simple one and Lily lists out all those present at the meal including Max and Cat (or "Meow"). She finishes up with an enthusiastically yelled "AMEN"!

That's all for now. Gosh - there is so much and I know I'm omitting a lot. Stay tuned for more Lily Doins.

Oh yeah: GraphJam!

Maybe I am the only one that does this, but on occassion, I am reminded of a fun website I havent visited in a good while. I blame Mommy A.D.D. (well, that and the infinite choices in websites to waste my time on). This happened recently when a friend reminded me of my love for graphjam. Here are a few that leave me in tears...And no - unfortunately I cant take credit for the first one - though I DO love my handy dandy flashlight phone.

Dear John John

In an earlier post, I mentioned my recent outing to Canton with my dear friend Krisha (with a tag along storm trooper). We had so much fun. We met a little over a year ago over a Bag discussion. I had to have Krisha's diaper bag, only in Girl Fabric, otherwise, I may have skipped our conversation and just stole it...errr...kidding...yes...anywhooo....I'm not that bad...yet. :-) So, I asked Krisha about her bag and we've been chatting ever since. We are proof that God can use Bags and other awesome accessories to bring wonderful friends into your life.

However NOW, we have...The Rest of The Story. From the wonderful babysitter that watched Lily and John while their Mommies shopped-till-they-dropped, we have The John and Lily Playdate Pictures! Yay!

This is some serious Cuteness Overload. Please view at your own discretion. :-)

I think these will be adorable at their wedding rehearsal dinner. Hmmm... maybe I should book a venue now?

I Can Haz?

Oh hai! There is a website that I love and I finally decided to post a sample. It is www.icanhascheezburger.com. I fully acknowledge its silliness. Oh yes, its Silly with a capital S. Like the tragedy of some people not finding Dumb and Dumber (comedy genius) funny, I realize this website may fall victim to the same unappreciative fate. In summary- this is some dorky goofy fun and I love it even if others don't. To give proper cred- I believe it was Cindy's sister Lisa that introduced me to this goofy humor addiction. Thank you Lisa, I owe ya. Here's a slide show of just a few of my favs...
